It is about 2.5 hours by car (154 km): around Reykjavík and east along Route 1, the Ring Road. The last mile to the lodge is a gravel farm road, not a mountain F-road, so any rental car will do at an easy pace. If you would rather not drive after your flight, add a private round-trip transfer when you book: 180.000 ISK per vehicle for up to 5 guests.
Not to enjoy Tindasel: the spa, dinner and the buggy adventure are all at the lodge, and we can arrange private transfers and a private South Coast tour. A car gives you the freedom to explore on your own: Seljalandsfoss is 36 minutes away, Skógafoss 59 minutes and Reynisfjara black-sand beach about 1 hour 30 minutes.
From mid-September to mid-April, on dark, clear nights. The estate has almost no light pollution, so you can watch from the lodge or the hot tub. A Northern Lights excursion can be added on request when you book.
Prices are in Icelandic krónur (ISK); we show an approximate dollar amount next to each price. Nothing is charged for your room when you book: it is charged 7 days before arrival to the card you save. Dinners, experiences and transfers you add are charged when you book. Your card provider converts the amount to your currency.
You can cancel your room free of charge until 12:00 noon, 7 days before arrival. After that the full accommodation amount applies. Experiences can be cancelled for a full refund 7 days or more before the scheduled date.
Breakfast every morning (08:00–10:00), a welcome drink, and the outdoor spa with hot tub, sauna and cold plunge (07:00–12:00 and 16:00–22:00). Towels and robes are provided, and Wi-Fi and parking are free. Book two nights or more direct and your first evening's three-course dinner is on us.
Let us know in the special requests when you book, and we will take it into account for breakfast and dinner.
Yes. Each room sleeps two adults and one child. For larger families, the Interconnecting Family Room sleeps six and is booked on request.
